If you have been or are planning to visit the Universal Orlando Resort any time soon you will most-likely hear of Butterbeer. This is a Harry Potter fans dream! But don’t fret, even if you are not a Harry Potter nut, you too can still enjoy this refreshing beverage.
Universal hit it right with this one, this frothy cream soda like concoction is like nothing else I have tasted. It is sweet but not overly sweet. People will be seen taking a swig and taking a selfie with their butterbeer stash!
Recently the Gurus were at Universal Orlando for training and enjoyed using our Universal Orlando Dining snack credit to pay for our butterbeer…which is a great value!
If you are not on the dining plan the butterbeer will set you back about $3 ($4 for frozen) for a disposable cup and about $10 ($11 for frozen) for a hard plastic souvenir stein.
Recently my kids made their own batch of butterbeer at home. It turned our really good. Check out the recipe below. *Recipe courtesy of The Orlando Informer.
Butterbeer
2 liter cream soda
2 tablespoons Butter extract
2 teaspoons rum extract
*drop the extracts into the 2 liter bottle, put on cap and slowly rotate until combined.
Cream topping
1 7oz container of marshmallow creme
1 cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon rum extract
*add all items together in an electric mixer and combine until smooth.
