4 Easy Steps That Will Make Your Walt Disney World Planning Magical: Part 4

TADA

You’ve chosen your dates, found a place and even have some advanced dining reservations at table service restaurants.  Now all you have to do is show up and the magic will begin!

Well, not exactly.  The next step of your planning process is rather extensive.  What are you going to do when you get there? Walt Disney World has 4 theme parks, 2 water parks and golf and spas and a shopping district.  How are you going to do it all?

You’re not.

You read it correctly.  I’m telling you right now – you are NOT going to do it all.  While I had thought the theme of this post was planning your time, I think it’s going to be more of – managing your expectations.

I’ve got it, get a guide book!  That should totally help!  Just take a glance and get a general idea of what you want to do…..wait a minute…Every guide book I see is like 600 pages!

Alright, I’ll go online and check out some web sites…Go ahead and Google “Planning a Walt Disney World Vacation.”  I’ll wait……yeah…2 million sites?  You could spend your entire vacation downloading information!

Here are the basics to managing your expectations:

  1. Figure out your “must do” attractions.  What do the people in your travel party want to do.  If little Suzie wants to ride Small World and your teen aged son HAS to do Rockin’ Roller Coaster, make a list.

  2. See what table service restaurant reservations you have – days and times.  This will help you determine which parks you will be visiting on what day.

  3. Factor in things you can’t control: weather, crowds, extra magic hours, special events that might change hours, personal stamina.

Whatever you do, please do not wait until you are in your resort room and turn on the TV to this:

There’s no wrong way to plan your Disney vacation.  By finding this site, you’re well on your way to planning a great vacation.  Guru has something you won’t find in guide books – PEOPLE with EXPERIENCE.  What makes Guru Travel different than your local travel agency? SPECIFIC experience.  Your travel agent has to know about the whole world.  Guru Travel SPECIALIZES in Walt Disney World.

No guide book or web site is can replace the personalized service of real people.  The reason I believe in Guru Travel is the personalized service – which is MY goal in helping travelers.  When a  Guru gets to know you, plans and arrangements will be made that fit YOUR travel style.

When I first started giving advice, I realized this is what I wanted to avoid.

I hate to see families walk into the park and immediately pull out the map and start to talk about what everyone wants to do.  Disney does not work like that.  You should know what you’re doing before you leave your resort room each day.  There may be changes to the schedule of course, but there is no reason to lose time in the parks.  Are you stuck in a 45 minute line for Peter Pan? THAT’S when you read your maps in detail.  Though if you follow WDW Guru advice, you should NEVER wait more than 20 minutes for Peter Pan.

Today’s lesson?  Manage your expectations and book your trip with WDW Guru so you can have a magical trip you’ll remember for years to come!
