Guru Tips – Write It!

Leeanne Blog Banner

We’re continuing our Best of the Best tips from our team of Travel Professionals. Enjoy!

Take a moment at the end of each day while on your vacation to record your memories in a journal.  It is a great way to go back and see what exciting adventures you had with your family and friends.  Even add some special pictures in your journal.  I wish I could have a tropical destination and Disney destination in my back yard each day!  However, since that is not currently possible………..(although it could be if I were at Aulani in Hawaii)…….I am able to go back to my journal and see the stories that I have written along with the photos.  This takes me right back to those special days and makes the anticipation greater for the next trip.

Be sure to add funny sayings that people used.  For instance, my little niece looked at me while we were taking a boat over to the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club and said, “I am going to call you peaches from now on and Uncle Johnny will be bananas.”  This statement came out of no where, but it was something I definitely want to remember.  So, I wrote it in the journal.

Another funny memory that I have is when I was on the beach with a bunch of our friends and we were telling stories about things that had happened the previous night.  It was the 4th of July and every time a firework would go off, a person would shout out.  It wasn’t until the next day when my husband and I were telling the story, that I realized what I thought he was shouting and what he was really shouting was completely different.  I made the following comment during our story telling session on the beach, “I sure felt sorry for that girl named Erica that the man kept shouting at last night.”  My husband looked at me and started laughing. I asked what was so funny.  He proceeded to tell me that the man was not shouting at Erica, he was shouting…….”Whooo America!”  I clearly missed that one:-) I thought he was shouting….”Whooo Erica!”  Till this day when America the Beautiful is played at a sporting event before the National Anthem, my husband and some of our friends just giggle and say……”Erica, Erica”.  I just laugh and continue on. I also had to write that down in the journal.
Try it out for yourself! You will find that when you go back and read about the times you have had that the memories pop into your mind with vivid clarity.  It will have you grinning from ear to ear.

What Our Clients Say

My grandson Oscar (5), son Johnathan, sister Kim and I went to Disney World for a week.  When I first had the thought to go I thought, where do I begin?  I put a shout out on FaceBook and discovered that Beth was a guru.  All I had to give her was my dates and we started from there.  She gave me options for resorts, told me about the dining plan, park hopper, fast passes and resorts to stay in.  She walked me through every step of the way.  I know that our vacation would not have been half as fun or organized if not for Beth.  I can’t say enough good things about her.  I would ask a silly question, she would reply and not make me feel like it was silly.  There is so much to Disney that I know it would have been a nightmare without her.  She is always, friendly and helpful.  She never tried to sway my opinion one way or another and let me make the decisions.  I would definitely have been lost without her.  I recommend her to everyone who says they want to go to Disney World.  Thank you Beth for the vacation of a lifetime.
