Juggling schedules is a challenge for families and short vacations and extended weekends are a great solution. I kind of have a rule that once I complete a vacation, I immediately start working on the next one, or the next one, etc. It helps me get through those post vacation blues! This year I think we are going to try to work in a lot of long weekends.
Universal Orlando is a perfect choice for your next long weekend. It is one of my favorite destinations for 3-5 days. We fly into Orlando, grab the Superstar Shuttle and head right over to start having fun. We always stay at a deluxe property to take advantage of the Express Pass to make the most of our time in the parks. It’s well worth it. I love that everything is so close by, it makes it such a manageable trip.
Guru Laura Lazicki just returned from a trip to Universal and here are her top three suggestions:
- We stayed in the Club Level at Royal Pacific as it was just a $100 difference in price – the food was fine – nothing to make a meal out of, but enough to get you along, especially at breakfast. Nice benefit, you can get as many bottles of waters as you want and bring them to the parks. As long as they are not opened before you board the boat – you are good.
- The Express Pas is the way to go. The lines for those without the Express Pass for almost all rides were an hour or more. But with Express Pass, we never waited more than 5 mins.
- Wet N Wild was fine, but I would like to try Aquatica at SeaWorld next time.
