The Most Magical Time of the Year – December at WDW

Cyndy Guest BloggerWhen people ask me when my favorite time of year to visit Walt Disney World is, I don’t hesitate – December is my answer! When you combine Disney and Christmas, you are bound to have a magical time.  When my boys were growing up, we would always leave for Walt Disney World on Thanksgiving Day arriving in time for the weekend crowds to die down. Then, we were ready for fun!

We love Florida weather in December. Typically we’ve experienced cooler nights (sweatshirt or sweater) and warmer days. We’re from Michigan, so anything is warm to us in December. Looking back, I really can’t think of any year where we didn’t have great weather most of the week. So, that is certainly something to consider.

Of course, every good comes with some challenges. Most notably are the Pop Warner football and the cheerleading championships.  You just want to be aware that typically these take place around the second week of December and I caution you about staying at the All-Star resorts. The kids are always well supervised, but the sheer volume can be a bit much for some to handle.

If you love animals and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, then December is perfect for you. With the cooler weather the animals are more active making your safari a bit more magical!

There are so many great things about traveling in December that I am going to break this up and talk about a number of different topics – stay tuned! And, hang because next week we will have something special just for those who book a December 2015 trip AND we have a free Christmas in July giveaway!
