50’s Prime Time Cafe:A Review

Our family loves 50’s Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios. We always go with a family of 7, so it’s hard to suit everyone’s taste in food. Well, here we found the place! The atmosphere is amazing. As soon as you walk in the door the atmosphere comes alive with seating all around to watch your favorite classic shows on T.V. while you are waiting. There is also a full service bar behind the “living room” to wait if you need a little drink to hold you over. We made reservations and I am glad we did, that place was packed. When seated, our friendly cousin came to greet us and take our orders. We were given strict instructions to keep our elbows off the table and eat all our veggies. She gave us a task to complete while we waited for our food. We even got graded on it, an A+ I might add, and when we finished she put it on the fridge just like mom! There are also T.V.s placed through out the dining areas with classic shows from the 50s, such as “Father Knows Best” and the original “Mickey Mouse Club”. Our food was delicious and just like home. You can have mom’s meatloaf, beef stew, fried chicken and yummy sides like mashed potatoes and gravy! I had the pot roast, which I must highly recommend. The list of desserts is viewed through the classic toy, the View Master. Man, they are hard to choose from, you can even get Smore’s. Specialty drinks including milkshakes are available, as is a wine list.

Also, if you are celebrating a special occasion, your cousin will make you feel very special by bringing out your dessert topped with candles.

Thanksgiving at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe would be no different. The place feels so homey and you are there with your brothers, sisters and cousins. And mom is even cooking in the kitchen, just like when you grew up! The regular menu is available, but during Thanksgiving they also add a traditional turkey dinner with all of the trimmings. Pumkin pie is even added to the dessert list! As stated earlier, this is a popular dining selection, so if you plan to visit during Thanksgiving, make your ADR early, as this is one of the busiest weeks at Walt Disney World. So, enjoy your meal and be thankful that you were able to eat it at Disney!

After you finish your classic Thanksgiving meal, get yourself in the Christmas spirit by viewing the magical Osborne Family Spectacular that adorns the grounds of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
