Families Reconnect with Hawaii Travel

 

 

 

 

In looking to disconnect families are looking for ways to reconnect with one another more than ever before. In my finding when dealing with planning family vacations I am hearing that people are so connected that they actually look forward to disconnecting while on vacation. Hawaii is a destination, not a resort. The beauty of Hawaii is that you can actually go out and explore without fear for your safety..you are not bound to a specific location. Hawaii is best for families that appreciate activities, dining, history culture, and nature.

One myth I want to debunk is that Hawaii is just too expensive to travel to. That is not true. It is like anywhere else, if you are educated going into your vacation, you will maximize your dollar and be well-prepared for what you have in store. This is why it is so very important to pick the right Travel Coach when you decide to embark on such an amazing adventure as Hawaii. Let’s get back to reconnecting with your family…

It is not too early to begin thinking 2017 travel..in fact as an expert travel planner I always recommend 12-15 months out for planning such a large vacation. This will allow us an ample amount of time to coach you in the perfect itinerary for you and your family. There are so many ways you can reconnect with your family in Hawaii but I am going to highlight some of my personal favorites.

Maui 

The joy of Hawaii travel is that there is so much to do for free! Many of the activities are nature driven so you simply show up and let nature take is course. With so many oppourtunities to create family memories the following activities make it to the top of our list when it comes time to reconnecting with your family.

• Helicopter tours
• Zip lining
• Snorkeling
• Surf lessons
• Sugar Cane Train
• Maui Ocean Center

Maybe you like diving and marine life? Molokini Crate offers some of the very best when it comes to snorkeling and diving.

• Atlantis Submarine excursion
• Whale watching is something not to be missed if you visit between December and March

 

 

Oahu 

For those looking for a resort that might include things such as an enriched cultural experience and beautiful views of the beach, we recommend Ka’anapali Beach Hotel. Here you will experience complementary Hawaiian cultural activities for the entire family! They have a super fun program called “Aloha Passports for Kids.” This program takes your family on a tour of the hotel to learn about their culture and of course, there are surprises along the way.

 

Another favorite of ours is the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. This beautifully lush property has daily penguin feedings, nightly Polynesian entertainment, and Tour of the Stars, a rooftop astronomy program with a NASA expert.

Maybe you are into adventure?

The Four Seasons Resort in Lanai where kids 18 and under stay free,  allows you to pick choose from mountain biking, horseback riding, guided hiking, and UTV adventures on the green upcountry lands. Tou can even go off-raoding across the red dirt roads. In addition, you can do the following:

• Snorkel in a marine sanctuary
• Whale-watching tour
• Activities with kupuna (elders)

Last, your family will LOVE the rescue bird program where you can spend time with some of the resident birds and even learn how to make a bird from a coconut leaf.

If you want a nice mixture of fun in the sun and culture, Oahu might be for you! Not only is my personal favorite Disney’s Aulani the super family friendly Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach and Outrigger Reef on the Beach is also there.
