Welcome, Disney Dreamers!

There’s something  magical about Walt Disney World that captures hearts, young and old alike. Today, we’re rolling out the red carpet for families ready to embark on their first journey to Walt Disney World. With Guru Travel -an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, you’ll experience the wonder of Disney at its finest! We are here to guide you.

Top Tips for First-Time Families:

1. Timing is Everything:

– Finding the perfect time to visit is key. Consider school schedules and seasonal Disney events.

Pro tip: Late winter and late summer often provide lighter crowds.

  • Mid-November-Mid-December (Stay away from Thanksgiving Week)
  • Second week of January through the first week of February-Weather can be cool so make sure you are prepared.
  • Most of May with a higher concentration on the first three weeks in May. Weather is warm but not hot, it can even been cool if it rains. As you approach Memorial Day the crowds will thicken.
  • Late August through the last full week of September. This entire time is absolutely dreamy for lower crowds. It is still very HOT!

 2. Navigating Over 47 Square Miles of Magic:

Understand that Disney World is as massive as it is mesmerizing. Strategize your visits to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Each park holds its unique charm! You will walk an average of 11-miles per day. We always had an umbrella stroller with us until the kids were 7 years old. It sounds excessive but you will want somewhere to let littles sit during parades and fireworks as well as jaunting between rides at times. You will thank us!

3. How long should your first Walt Disney World vacation be?

Ah, the magic of Walt Disney World! It’s a place where dreams come true, adventures abound, and memories are made to last a lifetime. But how long should your first trip be?

Many first-timers underestimate the amount of experiences that await them.

Initially, 4 days might seem like ample time. But trust me, after immersing yourself in the wonder of each park, you’ll realize that it’s simply not enough. Even very seasoned Disney Travelers find it difficult to get to everything in one day. Take into account that people may need a break or they may want to do some attractions more than once.

Here’s a hint: Epcot alone could easily captivate you for two days. It’s like stepping into two worlds in one. Did you know that the walk around World Showcase is about 2.1 miles if you are walking into each pavilion along the way?

For a truly immersive experience, consider aiming for a 7-day trip. This allows you to not only to experience the major attractions at each park but also take advantage of some extra magic, like your resort pool, minigolf, Disney Springs and more.

Remember, tickets are the most significant cost for most Disney World vacations. And guess what? Disney’s pricing structure cleverly encourages longer stays. 7-day tickets don’t cost significantly more than 4-day passes, allowing you to stretch your vacation dollar further and soak up all the magic.

So, before you begin planning, consider this: a 7-day trip is the sweet spot for first-timers. It allows you to truly experience the magic, create memories that will last a lifetime, and leave you longing for your next adventure.

4. How will you get to Walt Disney World?

Most of our clients fly to Walt Disney World but some do drive in as well. Your Guru Travel Advisor can assist you in planning your transportation including airport transfers.

5. Where will you stay?

Should you immerse yourself in the magic of an official Disney resort or opt for the convenience and affordability of an off-property resort?

Let’s explore both options:

Disney Resorts:

  • Immerse in the Magic: Disney resorts offer a unique experience, transporting you into a world of pure enchantment. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be surrounded by Disney’s signature hospitality and storytelling, making your vacation truly unforgettable.
  • Exclusive Perks: Disney resort guests enjoy exclusive benefits like Early Theme Park Entry, allowing you to experience the magic before the crowds arrive. You’ll also have access to Disney’s convenient transportation system, including buses, boats, and monorails, providing a hassle-free way to navigate the resort.
  • Deluxe Delights: Disney’s Deluxe resorts are masterpieces of design and luxury, offering spacious accommodations, world-class dining, and a plethora of recreational activities. They are ideal for those seeking the  Disney experience that everyone knows and loves.

PRO TIP-You do not need to stay at a Disney Deluxe Resort in order to experience the magic. All on-property Disney Resort Hotels offer an amazing experience with the same attention to hospitality.

Off-Property Resorts:

  • Cost: Off-property resorts offer a wider range of options at varying price points, making them ideal for budget-conscious travelers. Families of five or more often find off-property resorts more economical, as Disney’s larger family rooms can be quite expensive.

PRO TIP: Don’t forget that the parking at the parks will be an additional fee you need to budget for.

Making the Right Choice:

Ultimately, the best choice depends on your priorities and budget. If you’re looking for a fully immersive Disney experience with exclusive perks and convenience, a Disney resort is the perfect choice. However, if you’re prioritizing affordability, spacious accommodations, and exploring beyond Disney, an off-property resort might be a better fit.
