Guru Travel Review: Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

Our Guru Travel Advisors recently returned from a wonderful week-long retreat, part of which was spent at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa — a place we’re excited to share with you.

A Relaxing Retreat That Feels Like Home
This expansive Deluxe Villa resort truly feels like a home-away-from-home for families, couples, and Disney fans who appreciate spacious, comfortable settings. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the many moving parts of Disney planning, Saratoga Springs offers a great balance of  amenities and laid-back charm to help make your vacation feel effortless and enjoyable.

But, it’s important to remember that every traveler is different. At Guru Travel, we believe in helping you make an informed decision that’s right for you. Scroll down for our honest pros and cons of staying at Saratoga Springs.

Accommodation Types at Saratoga Springs
You’ll find three accommodation options here: deluxe studios, multi-bedroom villas, and unique treehouse villas. The deluxe studios are split between Standard and Preferred locations, with views of woods, water, gardens, or quiet courtyards.

Standard rooms give you convenient access to the Paddock Pool, laundry services, and the golf course. Just a small tip: The Grandstand area is a bit far from Disney Springs, so pack comfy shoes if you’ll be heading there often.

Preferred rooms in Congress Park and The Springs put you near the Artist’s Palette restaurant, High Rock Spring Pool, and the Carriage House — home to both dining and gift shops.

Updated in 2021, the deluxe studios are spacious by Disney standards (about 365 square feet). Each has a queen bed and a double pull-down, ideal for families of four. The tasteful equestrian-themed décor adds a whimsical touch, while amenities like a refrigerator, coffee maker, in-room safe, and a fully stocked kitchenette make your stay comfortable and convenient.

Getting Around & Nearby Attractions
Getting to Disney Springs is simple — you can walk via a dedicated path or take a quick bus ride, usually about 10 to 20 minutes depending on your location. After a day exploring, the resort’s water taxis at “The Landing” provide a relaxing, scenic ride back, with docks near both the Treehouse Villas and the Turf Club Bar & Grill.

Saratoga Springs sits on 65 acres, so it features five internal bus stops. Depending on your route, buses make several stops on property, which sometimes makes rides longer, but they are frequent and reliable.

For a bit more convenience, especially late at night or when running against the clock for dining, Minnie Vans are available via the Lyft app — a private car service with a typical cost of $30-$50.

When we stay here, renting a car adds flexibility, and the ample on-site parking right outside your villa is a huge plus, especially if you want to explore beyond Disney.

Why Saratoga Springs is Ideal for a Relaxing Disney Vacation

Feature Description & Value
Peaceful, Equestrian Charm The resort’s horse-racing theme and lush surroundings create a peaceful retreat, perfect for unwinding after busy park days.
Pools & Water Fun Two main pools (including a waterslide at the Paddock Pool), three quiet leisure pools, whirlpool spas, and kids’ play areas offer fun for everyone.
Outdoor Activities & Recreation From Surrey bike rides to an 18-hole golf course that’s also a wildlife sanctuary, tennis courts, jogging trails, basketball, and a Health Club, there’s something for all.
Community & Entertainment Community Hall hosts crafts, games, and movie nights, while the Show Arcade and Movies Under the Stars add classic Disney fun.
Shopping & Dining Gift shops like the Artist’s Palette and Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Pro Shop provide essentials and souvenirs; on-site dining keeps things simple and convenient.
Deluxe Resort Perks Guests enjoy Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours, and early access to Lightning Lane passes, including options like the Premier Pass with maximum flexibility.

Location & Convenience Highlights
One of Saratoga Springs’ biggest draws is its closeness to Disney Springs. Dining at well-loved spots like The Boathouse or Paddlefish? Staying here means you won’t feel rushed and can truly enjoy those evenings. Magic Kingdom is about a 10-minute drive away, with the other parks around 15-20 minutes, making it a reasonable home base. Plus, bus stops here tend to be some of the closest at the parks, giving you a quicker trip back after a long day.

The resort itself offers many reasons to enjoy your downtime—whether it’s sipping a refreshing drink at the pool bar or watching a Movie Under the Stars. Just keep in mind that deluxe resorts carry higher price tags, and deluxe studios can be a bit cozy for families of four. For extra space, a one-bedroom villa is a nice upgrade.

We Believe in Transparency: Pros & Cons

Consideration Details
Price Point Saratoga Springs is among the pricier Disney resorts, but the spacious villas and amenities deliver good value for families.
Property Size & Location The large grounds may mean longer walks or bus rides to dining and transportation, but they provide tranquility and space.
Room Sizes Studios can feel tight for families of four, but larger villas offer plenty of room and comforts for longer stays.
Travel Time to Parks Closest to Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs; trips to other parks take a bit longer but many guests find the atmosphere worth it.
Transportation Multiple internal bus stops might extend ride times, though buses run often and water taxis add extra options.
Dining Options Limited on-site dining vs. easy access to many Disney Springs restaurants.

Who Should Consider Saratoga Springs?
This resort is a great fit for families and couples searching for a quiet getaway that’s still near the lively Disney Springs area. It offers roomy accommodations and plenty of activities to enjoy without stepping into the parks every day—perfect for those who want to balance rest with adventure. Deluxe perks like early park entry and Lightning Lane access sweeten the deal, and those who need more space can opt for one-bedroom villas.
