Whispering Canyon Cafe is located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe resort located on Disney property. If you do not have the pleasure of staying at Whispering Canyon I would recommend arriving early for your dining reservation to allow time to browse around this stunning resort. I enjoyed the lovely seating throughout the lobby area…one of the few places I really felt like I could escape the hustle and bustle of Disney.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is a place where you need to bring not only your appetite but your sense of humor. This Western-themed location serves up some of the best BBQ on Disney property.
Everything about this location screams Disney…not in reference to characters but the attention to detail. The staff is outstanding here! I love the fact that they do not take themselves too seriously and you better not either cause they will call you out on it. The Guru’s dined there and one of us decided to use our phone and let me just say…we were called out on it in front of the ENTIRE restaurant!!! lol It was funny!
While Whispering Canyon Cafe serves breakfast lunch, and dinner, I only had the pleasure of enjoying dinner there this time. The way dinner works is, you can pick from appetizers, soups/salads. If you are on the Disney Dining Plan this will be one credit and you can build your own entree.
Build-Your-Own All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Family Platter – Choice of Three: Kansas City-style Smoked Pork Ribs, Herb-baked Chicken, Hand-carved Oak-roasted Beef Strip Loin, Citrus-crusted Market Fish, Western-style Sausage Sides fro Sharing: Seasonal Farm Fresh Vegetables, Herb-crushed Yukon Gold Potatoes, Cowboy-style Baked Beans, Corn on the Cob – $29.99
It is important to mention that this is bottomless. They will bring you as much as you want but it is served family-style.
To start you get the most delectable cornbread you could ever imagine. And of course I asked for the recipe because it is that stellar. Then shortly after that you are presented with your meat and side-dishes. There is SO much food that we did not need to ask for more..but if you want it you can have it.
Next comes the fun part….dessert! OMG the cheesecake is OUTSTANDING! We asked for the recipe for that as well but they said it is new so they don’t have it ready yet. We filled out a card and they will email it to us within 6 weeks. The dessert is served as a sample platter and again you can get as much as you like.
Fun tips:
- Be sure to ask for ketchup. Even if you don’t need it, just ask.
- Ask for a refill…mention that you want it large. :0)
- They have a really cute kids parade around the restaurant as you dine. So cute!
- Not a fun tip but worth mentioning. This is a VERY loud location. If you have a child sensitive to sound you may want to come prepared or reconsider.
