Dining is a HUGE part of the attraction when you decide to take a Disney Cruise Line vacation. Here are some FAQ’s you need to know!
What is rotational dining?
Rotational dining is the Disney Cruise Line® way of making sure that each Guest experiences each themed dining environment on board. Every evening, you dine with the same tablemates and have the same servers as you “rotate” to one of 3 main restaurants (not all restaurants are on all ships). Guests receive their schedule when they board, which tells them exactly when and where to go. Children’s menus are available in the restaurants.
When is dinner?
On the Disney Wonder® and the Disney Magic®, the Main Seating is at 5:45 p.m.; the Second Seating is at 8:15 p.m.
On the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, the Main Seating is at 6:00 p.m.; the Second seating is at 8:30 p.m.
When you book a vacation, please request either the Main or Second Seating. If the seating preference is not available, an alternate seating will be assigned. Regretfully, requests for a specific dining time cannot be guaranteed. For the assigned time and restaurant rotation, please check the dining tickets located in the stateroom upon arrival. Times are subject to change.
Can I request with whom to sit at dinner?
Every person in your stateroom will be at your table. At the time of booking, you can specify other people to sit with who will also be on board. If you don’t, assignments will be made to fill in your table. Generally, adults without children will dine with other adults, while families dine with other families.
What should I wear to dinner?
Dining Dress requirements vary by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general, most meals are “Cruise Casual”. Most cruises also have special theme nights with additional attire requirements.
Cruise casual nights — no swimwear or tank tops.
Formal nights — for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress.
Semi-formal nights — for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit.
