Ahhh….who doesn’t love a cruise? I particularly like them in the winter months. They are a great escape from the cold weather. Personally, I think a tropical vacation is a must on every Mid-Westerner’s schedule. (Ok, everyone else too!) Cruises make for the perfect tropical vacation because you have the opportunity to visit multiple destinations and you only have to pack and unpack once.
My personal favorite is a Disney cruise. It doesn’t matter which ports of call are on the itinerary, the fact that it is a Disney cruise is enough for me. The ports of call are always interesting and we have some great memories of some of the wonderful excursions. My husband and youngest son were both scuba divers and loved the dive trips at each port. My other son and I spent times doing things you can’t do anywhere else. We kayaked through the mangroves in St. Thomas and rode water rhinos (combo of jet ski and rubber boat). These are memories that will stay with us forever. And, isn’t that what family vacations are all about?
We started cruising on the Disney line when their first ships hit the water and my boys were just little. It is the perfect vacation because you have a wonderful blend of family time and adult time. The food is outstanding, the service impeccable, the cabins spacious (by cruise standards) and the entertainment is spectacular. There is nothing that I dislike about Disney cruising and for those who know me this is unusual. I tend be a bit picky.
If have never thought about a cruise, obviously I recommend taking a closer look. One of the best resources is to troll our blog. Earlier this year Kelly did a great series about Disney cruising that gives you great tips and incredibly useful information that really give you an insiders approach to cruising. I would be happy to send you some information as well. Let’s talk soon and get a Disney cruise on your schedule to break out of the long winter that will be upon us soon.
