Nine Dragons at Epcot~A Review

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Nine Dragons Chinese Restaurant in Epcot. I would first like to start off by saying that we were a party of two and because we were there for work we did not make any dining reservations. We were able to walk in and ask for a table for two and got seated immediately. This location is located right next to Lotus Blossom Cafe in the China Pavilion in the Epcot Center.

Upon entering Nine Dragons Restaurant you are swept away into China from the decor and the hospitality it is just beautiful and peaceful. The restaurant is rather large and the decor is just stunning. The one thing I did not care for was that the tables were a bit close together..I did feel like I could not have a private conversation without people on both sides of me listening in. Next time I would just ask for a more private place to dine.

For this trip I was not on the Disney Dining Plan so I was watching what I was spending. I did like that there was an option for a 3 course meal for $23.98 called the Nine Dragons Family Dinner Set. This is a great option if you are paying out of pocket and want to have a little bit of everything.  When you opt for the Family Dinner Set you can pick one soup, one entree and one dessert. It is a prefixed menu so you will be given 3-4 choices for each category. I would like to mention that I believe that you could share this meal with a child or even another adult..it is a lot of food.

I chose the Hot and Sour Soup, Honey Sesame Chicken and Caramel Ginger Ice Cream.

The soup was a bit odd..it had cilantro in it which I like but for some reason I did not like it in this dish. I would opt for the Pork Dumpling Soup next time. The server told me the soup was going to be very spicy but to me it was not..I do think I have a high tolerance to spicy though.

The Honey Sesame Chicken was so good! It had the perfect amount of crisp on the outside and was full of tender chicken on the inside..the sauce was very well done as well.

For dessert I found my new LOVE…Carmel Ginger Ice Cream. Oh my folks..this was stunning! I would highly recommend it!! If you are not going to be dining at Nine Dragons but you want to try the ice cream you can head on over to Lotus Blossom Cafe which is a quick service location right next store and purchase a scoop for $3.25 or use your Disney Dining Plan snack credit.

One last thing was that I ordered tea with my meal..it was so yummy!! I finished the whole pot on my own. Do keep in mind that normally tea at Chinese restaurants is complimentary but not here. I cannot remember how much it was but it was not too expensive.

Overall I really enjoyed this location..I think I may have to add it to my list of places to dine with my family on my next Disney vacation. We would love to know if you have been to Nine Dragons…did you enjoy it as much as I did?
