First of all I am in LOVE with Disney’s Polynesian Resort…everything about it is spectacular. This does not end with the food options at the Polynesian.
Kona Cafe is a table service restaurant found in the main lobby of the resort and is a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of Disney World. The cuisine here is American meals with an Asian flair.
There are quite a few reasons why I love Kona Cafe so I consider this to be a little hidden gem for dining on Disney property. Okay, I know that it is not hidden but there are a few facts that I would like to share with you.
Breakfast boasts the VERY famous Tonga Toast. This is Banana-stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar with your choice of ham, bacon or sausage. OH BOY is this good or what?! You get a strawberry sauce to drizzle over the top. Be sure to check out my post all about how to get Tonga Toast as a quick service meal by clicking here.
Lets just say that you really wanted some pot sticker and banana bread pudding from Ohana’ but that you did not book your trip with WDW Guru Travel and could not get a reservation. 😉 Well, you have another option. Did you know that you can order both items at Kona Cafe?! Yes, it is true!!! The pot stickers are on the lunch and dinner menu as an appetizer and the banana bread pudding can be ordered just by simply asking your server. I actually go into Kona without a reservation (very easy to get in) and I order both items…ahhhh pure Disney Dining bliss……
