Several months ago, my husband, daughter and I decided to try dinner at Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Our experience was pretty good, and we may eat here again someday.
Our reservations were at 7:00 PM. We decided to drive ourselves to save time, and we had a bit of a hard time finding a parking spot. If we were not pressed for time, I would have taken the bus to Magic Kingdom and the resort monorail to the Polynesian. This also makes Kona Café a great choice for dinner at the end of a day at Magic Kingdom. We checked in around 6:40, and explored the resort while we waited. We were seated around 7:20. A little bit later, our waiter came to greet us, and soon after brought us some delicious Sweet Bread. The bread was, by far, the best thing about this meal!
My husband decided to order off their sushi menu, and had a Shrimp Tempura Roll for dinner. To add a bit of island flair, they put mango on this roll. My husband thought it was flavorful and a nice change from traditional shrimp tempura rolls. Since I am a vegetarian, I ordered their meat-free option: the Pan Asian Noodles. It consisted of mixed vegetables, noodles and tofu in a ginger sauce. While it wasn’t my favorite, it was pretty tasty! The tofu, specifically, was my favorite part of the dish. My daughter ordered the Mickey Ravioli off the kids menu, and loved it as always!
