Disney Dining Review: Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

One of my favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World is Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. To be honest, it was one of my favorites before I even ate there! The pictures I saw were incredible, and I loved the idea of eating at a “drive-in”. My husband and I love science fiction movies, so we knew we would love this place.

I made us lunch reservations for our arrival day. I wanted this to be the first thing we did! Once we checked in, we waited mere minutes before being taken to our “car”. Although there are a few tables, most of the seating is in the form of two rows of booths within each car, facing the big movie screen. It really is like a drive-in theater! Each row only seats two adults, or two adults and one small child. We were given the option of one or two rows, and we decided to squeeze into one row so we could all be together. As a family of three, there is often one person sitting alone, so we try to limit that as much as possible. We watched the clips of the quirky, old science fiction films on the big screen as we looked over the menu. The restaurant is dark and quiet, which is a nice change of pace. It was a very relaxing meal.

I was so excited to see two vegetarian options, but had a hard time deciding between the two! Ultimately, I decided on the Vegetarian Sheppard’s Pie. It was a vegetable patty topped with mashed potatoes and cheese. It was so delicious! It was just the right size for lunch, too. My husband chose The Famous All American Picnic Burger with fries. He said it was one of the best burgers he has ever had! My daughter ordered the kid’s macaroni and cheese and an Oreo milkshake. The milkshake was pretty large, and we shared it between the three of us. To say that milkshake was the best one I’ve ever had would be an understatement! It was out of this world. A meal at this restaurant is a perfect addition to a day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Due to the dark lighting in the restaurant, I was unable to get pictures of our food, but I did snap this shot of the Organic Red Superfruit Sangria I enjoyed after my meal!
