With summer being here Disney water parks are about to become more crowded than any other time of the year. There are things that you can do to help you have a better water park experience.
Arrive early or late…
During the summer months Disney water parks get packed!! In fact if you are dead set on spending the day at a water park during the summer months you must arrive no later than 9am to avoid long lines. In addition, it has been noted that often times by 10am the water parks are full to capacity. On the flip side if you want to completly avoid those long lines and heavy crowds wait until the later afternoon, about 2pm. At this time the early birds, long lines and heavy crowds have dissipated.
When to visit
Visit water parks early in the week when crowds are at their lowest point. You will find that Walt Disney World guests are starting their week-long trips at the theme parks.
Keep and eye on the kiddos
It is very easy to lose children at water parks and the result can be tragic. Keep in mind that all Disney water parks have lifeguards, they wear red suits but that first you are your child’s safety. This is a great time to talk about pool safety like walking around all pool areas. I would make sure to point out the lifeguards to your children and let them know that they are there to help when needed.
Watch your attire
Ladies…this may not be the time for that totally cute two piece. :0) Keep in mind that there is something called the “wedgie” rule. I am pretty sure you can figure out that when you plunge your way down a steep water slide it is very possible that you may lose your bottom or even your top!!
Protect your skin
I know…not to sound redundant but Florida sun is very hot! Even if you are used to the sun cover up your skin with a good quality sun screen. There would be nothing more terrible than over-doing it in the sun only to get sick and ruin the nest day of your magical vacation.(can you tell that this has happened to me?) In addition, drink plenty of fluids. And no, swimming in the pool doe snot keep you from getting dehydrated! :0)
