Hi everyone, WDW Guru Stacy here, today is my Anniversary! My husband Jack and I were Married 12 years ago today. So I wanted to take moment and share with you our experience with a Signature Dining restaurant at Walt Disney World. Since my husband Jack and I had a Disney Fairytale Wedding back in December 2001 we thought since we would be at WDW for our 11 year anniversary that celebrating at the Grand Floridian where we had our reception would be a great way to celebrate.
We decided to dine at Citricos we have always wanted to have dinner here so we made our Dining Reservations for Dec. 6th 2012. Now since we were staying at Disney’s Bay Lake Towers we took the monorail over to the Grand Floridian Resort, once we arrived and entered inside we headed to the restaurant to check in, we were early so they handed us a pager and it would go off when our table was ready. We decided to go over to Cítricos Lounge and relax and have a drink and enjoy the Mediterranean ambiance while we waited. We did not have to wait long our pager went off and we headed over to the hostess and were greeted with a Happy Anniversary Mr. & Mrs. Reed. As we were shown to our table I think all the workers that night were informed it was our Anniversary because we were wished Happy Anniversary several times over before we made it to our table. We were made to feel very welcome and special; after we were seated our server came over and presented us with personalized menus and a free glass of champagne.
We had a nice view from our table we could look out onto the manicured courtyard of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa; now for the menu Citricos uses fresh, seasonal ingredients which influence the oft-changing menu. We began our meal with crispy risotto and some sautéed shrimp. Then for the main course my husband had the swordfish and I had the oak-grilled filet of beef. For a sweet ending to our Anniversary Dinner we indulged in a warm chocolate-banana torte, and a wonderful tropical fruit crème brûlée.
Our experience was wonderful and all the cast members working that night at Citricos made us feel welcome and made our Special evening even more Magical. We would and plan on going back here in the near future we had such a special experience. Now if you are on the dining plan like we were to dine at Citricos you would use 2 Table Service credits per person, now I knew this when we had made the reservations so we paid out of pocket for one of our other table service reservations during our stay so we had the “Extra Table Service Credit” to use for Citricos.
Now Citricos does have a Dress Code which we did not mind, it’s fun to get dressed up every now and then. Guests are asked to adhere to the dress code; Men may wear khakis, slacks, jeans or dress shorts and collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.
Women may wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses, jeans or dress shorts. Not permitted are tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics.
So I guess in the end my husband and I would recommend this dining experience to anyone that wanted to celebrate anything special while at Walt Disney World. Thanks everyone for taking the time to read my blog and I hope everyone has a Magical Day!
WDW Guru Stacy.
