Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party used to be a lot like Afterhours Events, not crowded. Long gone are those days. It is important to plan in advance so that you can attend the party on dates which are not as likely to be packed. In our experience, November is going to be far less crowded than December.

Based on crowds we recommend 11/19/2019 as the best Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party date. Usually, the week before a major holiday, things get a little quite, like the calm before the storm.

Check out the 2018 Party map. We will be sure to update as soon as the 2019 map is available.

You are able to enter the party at 4:00 PM with your ticket. We recommend getting there right at 4 so that you can take full advantage of some of the offerings. The park will close at 6 and the party does not start until 7. Between 6-7 is a wonderful time to maximize on rides and lower crowds. Once 6pm hits, those without the wristbands will not be allowed in the park.

  • You will receive a wristband when you arrive.
  • You will be asked to show it as you ride attractions.
  • Upon arrival, you will be shown to an area of the park where they are handing out trick-o-treat bags, and some fun photo-opportunities.
  • We recommend relaxing before you head to the party..this way you can stay up late to enjoy.
  • If you are a DVC member, you will be able to enter the party at 2:00 PM with your party ticket.

With the party starting at 7 pm there is an unofficial rule that Disney Cast Members will allow you to enter the park at 4 pm with your party tickets. This means that you have from 4-12 to plan for the festivities. We highly recommend that you plan to enter the park at 4 pm as the crowds begin to form outside of the park close to 7 making it almost impossible to enter on time. We have a plan below so that you can maximize your time.

  1. Enter the park at 4 pm and eat an early dinner at a location of your choice, just make sure it is in the park. Consult your park map to see where your highest priority meet and greet is located. For us, this would be Seven Dwarfs) Get in line, you will not be sorry.
  2. Pick up your Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Card if you collect them.
  3. Line up to meet the popular characters such as Jack and Sally, Dwarfs, Moana.
  4. Watch Frozen Holiday Wish at 6:15.
  5. Get on some rides and pick up your complementary treats, or head on over to the dance party.
  6. 9:25 Go to Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
  7. 10:00 p.m. watch the fireworks
  8. 11:00 p.m. watch the parade.
  9. Spend the rest of the night on rides, cookies and character meet and greets.
  1. Don’t spend the entire time eating or doing things not party exclusive.
  2. Don’t arrive right at 7 for the party. Your ticket allows you entry into the park starting at 4 pm. This is when the crowds to get in are the lightest. If you wait until 7, plan to spend about 45 minutes in line before you can enter the park.
  3. If you plan to take a day off of touring the parks, make it the same day that you attend the party. We once made the huge mistake of touring EPCOT all day, dining at Coral Reef, heading back to Pop Century to get dressed and booked it over to the party. Needless to say, that was a really poor choice on my part. Allow some time for relaxation so that everyone is in good spirits and ready to party!
