We recently had the pleasure of dining with our family of 5 at Disney’s Planet Hollywood located Downtown Disney. I have to be honest..I have never had a desire to go there but this particular trip was not a traditional trip for us as we were only on property as a pre-cruise stay. My husband really wanted to go so we gave it a try.
Boy have I been missing out! What a fabulous meal we had at Planet Hollywood. From the wonderful service to the entirely FUN atmosphere, we will most-definitely be dining here again.
The first thing I loved is the fact that we did not need a reservation to dine. We simply showed up and sat down like any other restaurant at home. I did have Disney Gift Cards to pay with but was told we could not use them there. Instead the server offered to charge the bill to my room so that I could pay the bill off at the resort. BONUS!
One thing you will notice is the shape of the restaurant. It is the shape of a globe…this is so cool because when you dine you are inside the globe. One thing I would have done differently is that I would have requested to dine upstairs as there are several floors of different memorabilia. After we finished dining we went upstairs to browse at all of the collections of movies past.
We LOVE music so we were thrilled to find out that there was a live DJ playing all of our favorites. In addition, they had several TV’s with movie facts and clips. Our family had a great time with the trivia and all played along.
The food was plentiful and VERY yummy! We got an absolute kick out of the size of my husband’s burger…holy cow was that big!
I would like to make mention of one thing; this is a VERY loud location. If you or anyone in your travel party is sensitive to sounds, this may not be the place for you.
This location does take the Disney Dining Plan.
