Disney Pin Trading on a Dime

Money Saver Monday!!

When you are visiting a Disney Park almost everywhere you look you will see park goers sporting those lovely Disney pins. You can buy them and trade them for some extra special Disney fun! While this hobby can be a TON of fun it can also cost you a TON of money.

Why not trade Disney pins in the parks rather than buying them? Okay, I know it can be super duper enticing to visit those pin carts while walking around the parks. Disney is always coming up with some very creative pins for all to enjoy. But you must keep in mind at $6.95 to $12.95 per pin…this can be very pricey.

Try to purchase less expensive pins before you leave for your trip and trade them with cast members at the parks for pins that you would like. Inexpensive pins can be purchased at Ebay.com and Pinfinder.com.  Both Ebay and Pinfinder offer ways to purchase pins in lots. This is also a great option for someone that is just getting started in trading.

Before purchasing, be sure that you understand pin trading rules. Tradable pins are Disney pins that are enamel or enamel cloisonné with a metal base and a Disney copyright engraved on the back.

For more information and official Disney Pin Trading rules click here.

Are you a pin trader/collector? I would love to know if you have used any of the websites above to start/maintain your collection.

See ya real soon!!

  • My kids love to pin trade. They get them as stocking stuffers at Christmas. I’ve always found great deals through ebay (:

  • I personally stock up on the low cost FROM THE USA (cause ive heard the China lots are funky and fakes) from Ebay between trips to use as trading fodder at the parks. 🙂

  • I love to pin trade – I need to do this before our next trip!

  • Thanks for posting this. I have done the eBay thing before our last 2 trips. Last trip I forgot everyones lanyards so we had to break down and buy a few. I bought sone of the cheaper set packs and split them between kids. Also at the pin place in downtown, you can often get some cheaper ones. I haven’t heard of Pintrader.com so I will check that out asap!

  • I’ve prchased from ebay as well, but you have to be careful. On a few occasions, they’ve slipped some fakes in my lots…
