Disney’s Pop Century Resort – A Personal Review by Kelly Ortiz

Disney’s Pop Century Resort stands out as a vibrant, value-packed option for guests wanting to soak in classic Disney theming without breaking the bank. Having stayed here recently, I’m excited to share my personal experience—and an FAQ to help you decide if this resort fits your next Disney vacation.

🧊 Room Amenities

The mini-refrigerator (actually a beverage cooler) was useful. For medical needs requiring a proper fridge, advising the resort in advance is important. Room sizes and bed setups are consistent: 1 Queen bed & 1 Queen-size table bed, or 1 King bed, accommodating up to 4 adults.

🧊 Best Buildings

We’ve done the research and we will put in a special request for our clients.

If you want to be super close to both the Disney Skyliner and the food court at Pop Century, I always suggest aiming for the 1960s section, especially Buildings 4 and 5. They’re right in the middle of everything, so it’s just a quick walk to the Skyliner station and Classic Hall, where you’ll find the food court.

The 1970s section, mainly Buildings 6 and 10, is also pretty close to the food court and the bus stops, but it’s a bit further away from the Skyliner compared to the 1960s buildings.

Just a heads up—rooms in the 1960s area are considered “Preferred Rooms,” so they might cost a little more but are totally worth it for the convenience.

So, if being near both the Skyliner and food court is a priority for your trip, I’d recommend requesting a room in Building 4 or 5 of the 1960s section for the easiest access.

🚍 Transportation

The complimentary bus service is well organized with dedicated lines and real queues—much smoother than at moderate or deluxe resorts. The Skyliner offers quick aerial access to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, though be mindful of long return lines during peak times.

🍽️ Dining

Everything POP Shopping & Dining food court has bounced back with a variety of offerings after COVID cutbacks. While not our preferred dining style, it’s great for quick meals.

PRO-TIP:Don’t miss a visit to the Petals Pool Bar for a refreshing beverage!

🏊‍♂️ Pools & Activities

The main pool is the heart of the resort’s fun atmosphere, with music and lively crowds. Although we skipped “Movies Under the Stars” this trip, it’s a fantastic family activity. Past visits proved the jogging trail and Fast Forward Arcade as extras for fitness and fun.

🅿️ Parking & Facilities

We didn’t drive this time, but parking is centrally located and accessible. Complimentary Wi-Fi functioned well throughout the resort. Online check-in via the My Disney Experience app made arrivals and departures easy.

🌟 Overall Value

If staying value, Pop Century is my go-to resort. It’s perfect for budget-conscious travelers who want to stay immersed in Disney magic. Whether traveling for business or leisure, understanding your needs versus wants is key—we help clients make informed choices tailored to their trips.
