It’s the most wonderful time!

What do you get when you cross a magical holiday with the most magical place on earth?

CHRISTMAS at WALT DISNEY WORLD!

What’s going on in the Magic Kingdom?  I’m so glad you asked.  On select nights starting as early as November 7, the Magic Kingdom presents Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

This party is a special event requiring separate tickets.  Once inside, join fellow party guests experiencing holiday shows throughout the park, complimentary cookies and hot cocoa and special characters dressed in their holiday best!

The highlights for my family?  The Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and Holiday Wishes.  I always enjoy seeing Cinderella Castle lit with icicle lights – and when it snows on Main Street, it just adds to the excitement.

If you are looking for something a little different, head over to EPCOT.  The most popular event begins on November 26.  The Candlelight Processional is a remarkable presentation of the biblical account of the Savior born in Bethlehem.  The story is read by a celebrity narrator.  A 50 piece orchestra and a full choir performs beautiful holiday classics throughout the event.  I have seen this production a few times – my celebrity narrators have been Whoopi Goldberg, Susan Lucci, Marie Osmond and Gary Senise.

The event is free to guests with admission tickets to the park and performances are held about 3 time a night until December 30.  To ensure a reserved seat, be sure to tell your Guru Agent you’d like the Candlelight Processional Dining Package.

Ever wonder how this time of year is celebrated around the world?  As you visit World Showcase, many of the pavilions will have performances highlighting their traditions.  My kids LOVE the Monkey King in China.  You’ll also have a chance to see Santa and Mrs. Claus in America!

Let’s head over to Hollywood Studios for their holiday magic!  In front of the park is a HUGE, entertainment themed Christmas tree.

Once the sun goes down, the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights begins!  Millions of holiday lights are hung around the Streets of America.

Every 10 minutes or so a holiday song will play and the lights will blink in perfect sync to the song.  Did you get a pair of Glow with the Show Mickey Ears?  When those special songs play, your ears get into the act as well – flashing in rhythm to the music!

There is a serious “Must Do” during the holidays at Walt Disney World — Resort Hotel Hopping.  Many of the deluxe hotels have some AMAZING holiday decor!  I highly recommend visiting the Grand Floridian, The Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I have to admit, as I am currently writing this, I’m on my deck in a tank top while my girls are splashing in the kiddie pool.  I was NOT in the mood to think about Christmas.  Now that I have spent some time thinking about Christmas in Disney – I am super excited!
