Attraction Tuesday!!

We are back this week to discuss some more secrets of Epcot. Sit back relax and get ready to learn so more Disney Magic through the secrets of Epcot!!

1. Test Track

Did you know that Test Track is the longest and fastest ride on Walt Disney World property?  These car log about one mile each ride they take and they reach speeds of up to 65 miles per hour! In addition to great speeds the Test Track cars hit high-bank curves of 50 degrees….wow!  Each car has 6 breaking systems and 4 visible tires. Take a second look the next time you ride and you may notice that your car actually has 22 wheels!

2. Spaceship Earth

We all know that Disney is notorious for fine detail but this is just amazing to me! The scene in ancient Egypt has an actual re-creation of hieroglyphics on the wall.  The words that are being read by the Pharaoh are actual words that are from a letter written by an Egyptian Pharaoh.  There is a scene where Johann Gutenberg is examining the bible. This page that is being examined is an exact replica of a page in the Gutenberg Bible.

3. World Showcase

The reproduction of national landmarks around World Showcase  shows the meticulous mature of Disney Imagineers. Take China and France for example, both the Temple of Heaven and Eiffel Tower are exact replicas of the original landmarks original blueprints were used in the recreation. The Temple of Heaven was scaled down to half its size and Eiffel Tower was scaled down to one-tenth its original size.

4. Mission Space

While riding Mission space, randomly flip all of the switches and hit all of the buttons. You may be in for a scolding by “Lt. Dan.” :0)

That will do it for this edition of Secrets of Epcot. From all of us Guru Girls to you we hope you are enjoying the month of May as we highlight all of the great things about such a wonderful park.
