Tips and Tricks: Halloween Horror Nights

Halloween Horror Nights

Everything we do has a plan, our motto is a well educated traveler is a less stressed traveler and has more fun! When you spend money on a hard ticket event like, Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) it is even more important to be planned because your hours are limited. Knowing what to hit and when can make a huge difference in dollars and cents.

The Early Bird Gets the Worm

We like to recommend getting to the front gates no later than 5 pm. If traveling in from off property this is especially important. You will need to leave time to park, walk in, go through security, and then queue up! We like to suggest to travel light as this event has very high security, you will feel like you just walked through the airport security.

If you are already in the parks on the day you are going to attend HHN, you will want to know that the park stays open until 5 pm. Guests that remain in the park will be taken to a holding area. Guests are released into the park around 5:45 allowing them first dibs to get in line.

* Head back 30 minutes before close to take advantage of very low wait times for the haunted houses.

Head to the House

Lines for the haunted houses become astronomical and quick! We like to recommend that you tackle those before anything else. Believe us, you will not be sorry you did.

Scare Zones

When lines become unbearable for the haunted houses, don’t fret. Head on over to the scare zones. I found these to be just as scary and entertaining. It is fun to watch people walk by and get surprised by the cast.

Shows

Because shows are scheduled, we highly recommend consulting your park map for a listing of showtimes. If you want to see a show, we recommend going earlier than later. As the night progresses, you will need to queue up about 60 minutes before showtime.

Single Rider Lines

While I recommend focusing on the events of HHN, many people want to hop on a ride or two. Be sure to utilize the single rider line to expedite your wait time.
