“Disney Cruises are for kids, why would I want to take one?” This is probably one of the questions I hear most often. My first thought is “You need to book a Disney Cruise!” For any of you who have been wondering the same thing, here are the top reasons Disney Cruise Line is the perfect adult vacation.
Palo, named after the long poles used by gondoliers in Venice, is an adults-only restaurant, specializing in Northern Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist. It offers beautiful ocean views from every seat and has a pianist who softly serenades you while you dine. A truly romantic dining experience you will cherish long after you leave the ship.
Remy is French Dining at its finest. This adults-only dining experience is beyond compare, you will be telling friends about it for years to come. To quote Disney
“Dining at Remy is like being transported to an authentic fine-dining restaurant in France. The luxurious dining room is softly lit and designed in a timeless Art Nouveau style featuring soft greens, rich reds, and gold tones. Graceful, sinuous lines adorn the chair backs, glass and wall etchings, as sweeping floral and leaf designs ornament the carpet and lighting. Adding to the refined ambience, tables are set with Frette linens, Riede glassware, Christofle silverware, and china created exclusively for the restaurant. The adorable Remy character appears in artful ways throughout the restaurant’s design for a touch of Disney magic.”
Reservations are required for both restaurants and each is more than worth the extra dining charge.
Quiet Cove Pool
This relaxing, adults-only pool area (and adjacent lounge) is the perfect place to get away from it all. It’s the perfect place to get to know other adults onboard and has games and activities hosted by Crew Members daily. Plush lounge chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You can even schedule a poolside massage performed by therapists from Senses Spa & Salon.
Senses/Vista Spa & Salon
If you want to be pampered while onboard nothing beats Senses or Vista Spa & Salon. Their services include massages, facials, body wraps and of course their full service salon is there manicure and pedicures, hair styling and blow outs, and even haircuts for the men. They even provide teeth whitening at Smile Spa. Prices vary for each of the services, check with your Guru for current pricing.
Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island, but even more exclusive is Serenity Bay. It’s the adults-only, white sand beach area of Castaway Cay with lounge chairs and beach umbrellas. You can even dine there at Castaway Cay Bar-B-Q or have an adult beverage at Castaway Cay Air Bar (at an additional charge). You can swim in the ocean, relax in the hammocks or enjoy watching the local wild life native to this tropical paradise.
Disney is a master at entertainment, and Disney Cruise Line is no exception. You can enjoy a different Broadway-caliber show each night aboard your ship – shows that you can’t see anywhere else! You will see adaptations of old favorites like Aladdin and Toy Story, as well as shows created especially for Disney Cruise Line-All Aboard: Let the Magic Begin and Disney’s Believe. These shows will have you planning your New York vacation to see the originals on Broadway!
Nightclubs and Lounges
If you think because it’s Disney there’s no nightlife, think again! From piano bars, to high energy dance clubs, Disney Cruise Line has you covered. So you can dance the night away, enjoy a pint or sip on champagne and relax. There is a club or lounge to suit every taste. A few of the lounges are open to families during the day, but at night they are adults-only.
