Money Saver Monday!!
Feeding small stomachs on vacation can become a challenge on Disney property because the portions are so plentiful and or the offerings are not what your little one would like to eat. Why should you have to pay for more than your child will eat or order something they do not want?
If your child is not quite satisfied with the children’s menu take a gander at the appetizer menu…often times that menu offers some more sophisticated options but in smaller portions and prices. We did this for my daughter a few years back when we went to Disney without the Disney Dining Plan. She is an adventurous eater and was sick of mac and cheese after a few days.
In addition, do not be shy in asking your server if half portions are available. This option is not going to be advertised but often times can be honored. Last, many Disney restaurants can offer you many items on their menu a la carte and this can even be done at some quick service locations. If your little one is not going to eat the fries and drink the Coke do not pay for it. It never hurts to ask…all they can say is no.
See ya real soon!!

Great ideas! Not just for children either, there are many adults with small stomachs due to medical issues who have a hard time figuring out how to eat out!
Kristen I have to agree. Thanks for stopping by today!!
I never thought to ask for half portions.. Great idea! My son is such a random eater that we never know what he’s going to eat.. but I have heard they’ll usually (at least counter service) sell you minus the sides.. but we did fruit and milk to make the meal most of the time. The only part of the meal he’ll definitely eat!
