On select evenings starting in mid-September, the Magic Kingdom offers guests a spooktacular time at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP).

Here are Five Fabulous Facts you should know when attending the party.

1. Trick or Treat

When you arrive at the party, you will receive a map of the festivities and a bag.  Party goers can trick or treat at areas within the Magic Kingdom .  There are plenty of treats for everyone!  Trick or treat spots will be marked on your map, but you shouldn’t have much difficulty finding the areas either!

  1. Merchandise

Shops within the parks will have fall and Halloween themed merchandise during regular park hours.  On party nights, party goers have the chance to purchase exclusive party merchandise.  They even have pins that are dated specifically for that night’s party.

  1. Costumes

You don’t have to dress up to attend the party, but you will see lots of people that do dress up.  Costumes will run the gamut of simple T shirts to elaborate costumes.  This family went with a Peter Pan theme which was great for a photo op with Captain Hook.  When Katybug was 2, she dressed as Snow White and the adults in our party wore T shirts with the dwarf that best represented each of us.  I was Sleepy!  One year we saw two guests dressed as Prince Charming and Prince Eric.  Their costumes were so good guests were asking for autographs and photos!

4. Boo to You Parade

This is a great parade.  There are two awesome parts of this parade.  To start the celebration – a real Headless Horseman will ride his horse along the parade route!  The floats are all Halloween themed and characters will be in their costumes to celebrate the holiday.  There is a section of the parade based on the Haunted Mansion attraction.  A group of “gravediggers” lead the way scraping their spades across the ground making these awesome sparks!

  1. 5. Hallowishes

Wishes is my favorite fireworks show but Hallowishes is even better!  The show is AMAZING!  You will have to see it to believe it!

Spending time at Walt Disney World during Halloween is fun during regular park hours, but if you have a chance to attend MNSSHP, I highly recommend doing so.  The party is a separate ticketed event.  Ticket prices do fluctuate depending on the date of the party.
