When talking about Magic Kingdom hotels, I am referring to:
- Contemporary Resort
- Polynesian Resort
- Fort Wilderness Campground
- Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
- Wilderness Lodge
Seeing that all of these resorts (except Fort Wilderness) are deluxe level hotels, you will be staying in style! The resorts are gorgeous and offer concierge levels. When I was young, we stayed concierge level at the Polynesian and we would stop by the concierge office for complimentary drinks and snacks after a long day at the parks and before we hit the parks each day.
These hotels have multiple shopping venues and at least one table service restaurant in the lobby. Some of my favorite restaurants are located in these resorts – Chef Mickey’s, Victoria and Albert’s, ‘Ohana and Whispering Canyon.
Transportation options are varied ranging from the monorail to resort launch boats to walking paths. I have enjoyed taking the resort launches back from the Magic Kingdom at night. Seeing the hotels lit up as you ride along the Seven Seas Lagoon has always been a wonderful trip for me.
There are a few other benefits to staying in this area. If you have a view of the Magic Kingdom from your room, you have a great view of the Wishes fireworks. I remember staying in the main building of the Grand Floridian and watching Fantasy in the Sky from the balcony. You also have a great view of the Water Pageant at night. Don’t have a view from your room? No problem, these resorts have sandy beaches along the lagoon. Grab a hammock and watch!
Accommodations in the Magic Kingdom area are truly luxurious and tend to make you spoiled while you are there! Be sure to make use of as many of the amenities that are available to you!
