I recently returned from Moon Palace Jamaica mid-January, 2019. I had the pleasure of staying at this property one year prior as well. Just one year made a HUGE difference in this property for the better.
The Moon Palace Jamaica is a Four Diamond resort which includes luxurious accommodations, plenty of dining options, top-shelf liquors, complementary wifi and unlimited local and long distance calls to the continental U.S. and Canada. You can expect nightly entertainment which is all included!
You may be more familiar with Palace Resorts in Cancun, Mexico. Palace is known for exceptional service, endless activities and family, family, family travel. I have had the pleasure of staying and playing at The Moon Palace, Cancun, The Grand at Moon Palace and Moon Palace, Jamaica. What I would like to pint out is the consistency. The service and room quality is very much the same across the board giving Palace Resorts an A+ when I am narrowing down options for clients.
The Beach at the Moon Palace Jamaica
Jamaica is known for is long tame beaches with crystal blue waters. This is one area that the Moon Palace Jamaica is needing a bit of help. I would like to point out a couple of things:
- It is very apparent that the staff has taken reviews into consideration when deciding what needs improvement. As a lot of money has been spent on cleaning up the look and feel of the beach.
- The beach area is more of a cove..small an quaint. One huge pro is that while there are not any private beaches in the area, this one is as close as you can get to private. The way it is situated, does not allow for vendors or foot traffic. I did not see one non-resort guest on this beach.
- Another huge plus is the size. Because the beach is small, it is very manageable for families with kids of all ages. You can easily lay on a beach chair while your little one plays at the edge of the water.
- Beach service! Need I say more? Who does not want drinks delivered beach side? Moon Palace truly delivers.
The Pools and Water Park
There is no shortage of things to do here! Again, the area this resort is set in, it very unique for Palace Resorts. The resort is small and a pleasure to navigate. That goes for the pool and water sports area as well.

Towels
Like everything else, Palace thought of it for you. Towels can be picked up at the towel exchange as you enter the pool. Simply fill out your name and room number, and you are ready to go!
Is the Moon Palace Jamaica good for families?
ABSOLUTELY! In fact, both times I stayed here I was in attendance at the Family Travel Advisor Forum. The whole focus of our convention was to learn more about family travel and family properties.
An important thing to point out is what I am looking for when I tell you the resort is family friendly. I am looking for little touches such as greeting at the lobby, how navigable is the resort for families with children, food options, style and location of the beach, activities, local activities, service.
One thing to point out but this is a theme in Jamaica, is the ride from the airport to the resort. If you can get past the 75 minute ride, you will be so happy! I have options for you if you want them. I was transported in a luxury van with wifi, tables and comfy leather seats…made a world of a difference.
Accommodations
I’ve stayed at this resort twice and both times, I was thrilled with my accommodations. First of all, the rooms are bright and cheery no matter which side of the property you stay on. I want to point out the beds, Palace has the BEST beds of any resort I have stayed in…I am telling you, you melt in like butter.
Every room is equipped with a mini fridge which has soda, beer wine and bottled water. In addition, you will have a fully stocked mini bar in your room as well as a bottle of red wine.
For your comfort, there are bathrobes and slippers, and yes, they even have them for the kids. It is important to point out that there are not tubs in the rooms.

Couple of things I love. The pool service and staff are amazing! Your drink will be refilled promptly and you will be able to order food right to your seat…love this so much! Try a burger, they are really yummy! I also love, love, love, the Boulangerie coffee shop. They have some of the best coffee and sweet treats and I love it when the staff takes the time to add fun coffee art. Such a wonderful addition to this resort.
The Bottom Line
I will be back! I love it here, staff is simply divine…the location is wonderful and I feel very welcomed when I am here…just like home. Way to go Moon Palace Jamaica, cannot wait to see you again.
