Money Saver Monday!!

Our towel creatures at Pop Century!! So much fun!!

This will be the last in our series of FREE/inexpensive Disney souveniers. I have really enjoyed researching for the best options for budget souveniers. This week we are going to talk about FREE/Cheap souveniers….now some of these are debatable as souveniers but if you are sentimental they may work for you. Enjoy!

Collect it all…..

As you travel  at WDW you will notice that there are a lot of items that you receiev that you can use as a FREE souvenier. Here is a list of items that some Disney travelers have reported keeping as souveniers:

  • Napkins
  • Soap
  • Shampoos
  • Lotion
  • Coasters
  • Towel Creatures(yes it is confirmed you can keep these :0) )
  • Receipts
  • Paper Menus
  • Park Maps
  • Fastpass
  • FREE Mickey stickers that Cast Members hand out. (sometimes they give you a handful)
  • Resort Room Pen/Paper

Now for some cheap options:

  • Antenna Topper- When I was there last they were about $4 each.
  • Disney Magnets-Almost every gift-shop carries magnets. I just love seeing them on my fridge!!
  • Postcards-Why not frame a few postcards and add them to your desk or your special “Disney Place” in your home?
  • Cellphone charms-These are surprisingly inexpensive. My daughter gets a few for her friends every time we visit. Cost $5!!
  • Disney Pen and Pencils-My kids love to buy pens and pencils and use them at school.
  • Refillable Resort Mugs

Last but certainly not least….pictures! Take a ton of pictures while on your Disney vacation so that you can be sure to keep the Disney memories alive at home. :0)

Do you have a favorite FREE/Cheap Disney souvenir? I would love to hear from you!!

See ya real soon!!

Kelly

    Hi Kelly,
We take home the shampoos and soap mostly because of the Disney branding on them, but they come in handy when traveling or when you run out if shampoo at home. I use the maps, brochures, anything I can get my hands on, to “scrapbook” our Disney memories. We also love the towel animals…unfortunately though, we have found that a good tip goes a long way and a not so good tip delivers not much in terms of towel animals. Also depends on where you stay.

  • Melissa I agree about it depending on where you stay. We have found that at the Deluxe and Value resorts we get the most creatures. At moderates we have never received one. At Pop Century we have always been greeted by towel creatures upon check-in. Makes it so much more magical!! Thanks for stopping by today!!

  • I love the towel animals. We had some fun stuff for our Mousekeepers in hopes of additional animals, but only got the one upon check-in. Love your list of freebies!

  • Bird sometimes if you leave them a note, they may give you some extras…:0)

  • Bird and Kelly,

We only got the one upon check-in at Wilderness Lodge, but this next trip, I will try leaving a note and report back. These tips and ideas are so great that even these articles need to go into someone trip planner as a reminder. I would LOVE to hear if other guests have discovered something that’s not yet been talked about. And I agree, a tip and/or a treat goes a long way. 8:-)
