I just returned from the innagural sailing of the beautiful, Norwegian Encore. On this sailing, I had the opportunity to tour the solo cabins and the solo lounge. Let me tell you, amazing! Norwegian hit the mark on this much needed demographic. My concern was that the cabins would feel claustrophobic being that they are all interior and meant for one cruiser. This could not be more far from the truth.
Did you know that Norwegian Cruise Line was voted best solo line? Solo travelers will find a variety of studio cabins on select Norwegian Cruise Line ships. These cabins provide access to a particular area of the ship called, the Studio Lounge and is geared towards the solo traveler. The lounge is a gathering place to watch TV, have a drink, and engage with other solo travelers. I found this space to be very inviting.

Norwegian Cruise Line will offer ample opportunities for meet-ups for solo travelers. In addition, you may even be able to take part in a pub crawl and there is always a Friends of Dorothy happy hour. Want to pamper yourself? Take full advantage of the spa on the Breakaway Class Ships which includes a start with a hot-stone massage, one of over 50 specialty treatments offered by our well-trained massage therapists. Then unwind in the Thermal Suite with a steam or a dip in the Vitality Pool. Within these tranquil walls, experience the Salt Room, a dramatic grotto surrounded with layers of body-cleansing salt crystals. If you are an active traveler, don’t worry. Sea days can be packed with fun as well. Take advantage of the speedway, lazer tag, fitness center, ropes courses, water-slides, climbing walls and Galaxy Pavilion.
After a long day, enjoy Norwegian Cruise Line’s award winning cuisine followed by their Broadway caliber productions. My personal new favorite is Choir of Men on the Norwegian Encore…this show is amazing!
