Resort Review-Grand Sirenis Rivera Maya

I had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. While I was there I had the chance to stay in a Superior Junior Suite which is newly renovated and beautiful! Rooms are extremely spacious and clean. There is a lot to do here!!

  • Beach games
  • Lazy river
  • Gym
  • Spa
  • Dolphin Discovery
  • Poolside activities
  • Mayan Dinner (Extra Charge)

All of this comes in at a very attractive price for families and young honeymoon couples.

PROPERTY OVERVIEW

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort & Spa is an all-inclusive hotel complex situated 20 miles from Playa del Carmen and one hour from Cancun International Airport. The property has a perfectly conserved Mayan ruin and a “cenote” (underground river inherent to the region). The resort is set alongside the largest coral reef in the Riviera Maya and home to a sweet-and salt water lagoon teeming with parrotfish, turtles and other tropical sea creatures, making it the perfect location for guests interested in diving and snorkeling.

Three things I like about this resort.

  1. The price! Comes in at a stunning rate for those looking for a vacation away but can’t break the bank.
  2. The room decorations are fresh and you know you are on vacation! Love that the rooms sleep 5!
  3.  The unique feel of this resort from the moment you step in. While the resort is geometric and contemporary, they did not forget to include lush grounds and an ambiance which lets you know that you are someplace other than home.

This resort is perfect for families especially the multi generational trip looking to accommodate various budgets. In my opinion this resort is also a great pick for young couples on a romantic escape but do not mind a resort that is alive all day and all night.

Something to be aware of…

  • The beach is a bit rocky, great for snorkel but not a long stretch of beach. Can be considered underwhelming.
  • Wifi is VERY spotty. I needed to work while I was there and could not at all.  In addition, it is not free unless you are in a superior room.
  • The property is huge! We utilized a tram to get to and from quite a bit.
  • You will have about a 1 hour drive from the Cancun Airport.

The bottom line is this is a solid property which offer a lot for families and couples to do. The grounds are beautiful and offer a very nice range of contemporary yet exotic feel. There is a nice vibe on the property yet, you can get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet as well. Be sure to visit the spa!
